SDEX Suite for Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Modbus TCP, FANUC CNC, and Sinumerik 840D controllers
The common configuration of the SDEX Suite product family is described in the Configuration section.
The SDEX Suite scope of delivery includes a time-limited and functionaly unlimited demo mode.
The demo mode is started immediately once the product has been started without a valid license.
It will expire after 72 hours and the SDEX Suite stops working.
To remove the time limitation of the demo mode the SDEX Suite must be licensed.
The SDEX Suite uses a floating license mechanism.
A working floating license server is required to have the SDEX Suite successfully licensed.
Please see the License README page for further details.
The license activation for Softing’s SDEX Suite product is described at the README page of the Softing License Server.
Please see the License Server Connection Configuration section of the License README page for further details.
For the license information of the open source components used by the SDEX Suite product, please see the Open Source page.
For more information on how to proceed with the migration from dataFEED edgeConnector Siemens, dataFEED edgeConnector 840D, dataFEED edgeConnector Modbus, dataFEED edgeConnector FANUC CNC, dataFEED edgeConnector Allen-Bradley PLC variants to SDEX Suite, please see the Migration page.
Note: The individual dataFEED edgeConnector variants (e.g., Siemens, 840D, Modbus, FANUC, and Allen-Bradley) are deprecated and no longer maintained. To ensure long-term support, compatibility with future updates, and access to the latest features, users are strongly encouraged to start the migration process to the unified SDEX Suite product as soon as possible.
Important Migration Note:
If you are running an older version of a dataFEED edgeConnector variant and plan to migrate, please ensure that your existing configuration is first upgraded to the latest available version of that specific variant. Only after confirming that your configuration works with the latest variant version, you should proceed with the migration to the unified SDEX Suite.
This step is necessary to avoid compatibility issues and to ensure a smooth transition of your settings.
The SDEX Suite product can used via the the SDEX Suite Gateway device.
NOTE: Current edgegate devices should be upgraded to the latest version of the device. Use the steps present in the documentation for a complete upgrade.
